Do you desire growth, promotion, success, development, elevation, fruitfulness? I know we all love these and I cannot blame anybody. After all, nobody wants to remain stagnant and unprogressive in life. Yes, I am sure nobody wants to be called a failure.

I have always believed in the law of cause and effect. Isaac Newton gave us the third law of motion where he stated that an action is equal to reaction. However, I believe that most times “reaction” is always bigger in magnitude to “action”. That does not however take anything away from the great works of this great scientist.

I am only talking from the scripture point of view. Jesus says “…Except a grain of wheat falls into the ground and dies, it abides alone. But if it dies, it brings forth much fruit” John 12:24 (KJ2000)

The farmer has to put that seed into the ground (action) to have a harvest (reaction).

Investors must put their money into an investment product (action) for there to be a harvest (reaction).

A lecturer must give all he has to the students in the lecture room to harvest graduates (reaction) at the end of the day.

In the Bible, David had to go to the wilderness after been anointed as King to become a man after God’s heart.

Moses also left the palace to the forest to become one of the greatest men of God the world has ever known (Exodus)

Jesus, the master had to taste death for Him to have a name that is above every other names (Philippians 2:9)

The grain of wheat, Jesus said must fall and die, if it refuses to carry out this action, promotion of whatever form is far from it. It will be unable to record any success story.

Now I know we all need promotion. Are we all ready to carry out the actions that will produce the reactions? If Jesus says “except”, then, there is no alternative!

Before I sign off on this article, let me share with you the role the word of God plays in this whole thing.

It is the word of God that can actually make you “fall to the ground and die before promotion”. This is the point we have always missed. Most times when our times of promotion is near, God’s instruction(s) to us will “take us into the ground to die” and then we begin to shine afterwards.

When God asked me to leave my paid employment, and I heeded His instructions, most people thought I was crazy, some of them even told my wife that she was stupid to have allowed me to do that.

Today, to the glory of God, I have a testimony that is making them to see God as a partial God!

My dear reader, except you allowed the word of God “to take you deep into the ground to die”, you abide alone (stagnant). However, if you allowed this “action”, you can be sure of plenty “reactions”!
