“You looked for much for much and lo, it cam e to little; and when you brought it home, I did blow upon it. Why? Says the Lord of Host. Because of my house that is in ruins and you run every man into his own house” Haggai 1:9 (KJ2000).

Welcome to today’s post. If you are a newcomer to this blog, I want you to check my previous posts on this topic of “Why God Created Darkness”.

The passage above explains clearly all that I want to pass across to you today. It is the word of God that came from Prophet Haggai to God’s people.

After God’s people returned from captivity in Babylon, they set out to rebuild God’s temple but have to abandon this task after sometime to pursue their private businesses. God did not like that and He created a symbol of darkness (He blew upon even the little gains they were making from their businesses) to trouble them in order to get them back on track with Him!

Thank God for God’s actions, the people retraced their steps to do the right things (Haggai 1:14).Doing the right thing is expected to profit them (Haggai 2:6-9).

I hope you can also remember the story of Jonah. The Bible says, “Now the Lord had prepared a great fish to swallow up Jonah” (Jonah 1:17). Jonah acted opposite God’s instructions and God created a symbol of darkness to swallow him to bring him back to Him!

God is good all through. The darkness is even a “tool” in His hands to profit you! I have observed from personal experience that I have improved character wise and spiritual wise anytime I pass through those great trials. I have come out stronger in every aspect.

I am appealing to you not to be scared of “darkness”. Your only job as a Christian is to shine through it!

I will be sharing my personal experiences with you on this page in my next post.
