Welcome to this post. It is a continuation of the series I started some days ago on “why God created Darkness”. Last week, I informed you that one of the reasons is for Christians to get involved in some spiritual works like praying, studying the word exercising faith and so on. It is to keep you busy as a spirit being. In your busy state lies your spiritual growth or maturity.

Today, I will be sharing, by God’s grace, another reason why God created darkness. I am drawing inspiration from the story of Hannah in the book of 1 Samuel 1:

“But unto Hannah he gave a worthy portion; for he loved Hannah: but the Lord had shut up her womb”            I Samuel 1:5 (KJ2000)

God’s created darkness was really a “thorn in the flesh” of Hannah. The Bible says, “She was in bitterness of soul”. She had waited for so long without a child and this made her to weep on a regular basis (1 Samuel 1:7).

God allowed the symbol of darkness in the life of Hannah for a great purpose and the major purpose was to make Hannah become the mother of a Prophet!

Well, just as I have shared in my last post these symbols of darkness will get you down to work. It did just that for Hannah. The Bible says, “And she (Hannah) was in bitterness of soul and prayed unto the Lord…” Yes, she prayed to fight darkness! Hannah, during her prayer “vowed a vow” in her heart (1samuel 1:11) which agreed perfectly with God’s plan for her life (to make her the mother of prophet).

God allows darkness in your life to profit you jus like it profited Hannah. Her son, Samuel became a great prophet in Israel and became more accomplished than the children of the other wife of Elkannah became.

If you are a Christian reading this, please do not fret or cry like Hannah when you notice a “symbol of darkness” manifesting itself in your life. You see it is a symbol of promotion designed by God for you. You should just get down to work just like Hannah and fight it out in the place of prayer.
