I hope since my last post on this page where I discussed an important element that has deprived many couples of bringing forth children (if you are in this category), you have taken the time to do a thorough check on the relationship that exist between you and your spouse to see whether this great element called LOVE is actually absent in your family.

Today, I will be talking about another important key “element” that is just necessary in the family (especially between couples) for them to parent their children- UNITY

“And the LORD God said, it is not good that the man should be alone, I will make him a helper suitable for him” Genesis 2:18(KJV)

The first woman-Eve came forth to be a helper unto the first man-Adam .They are the first couple created by God and in essence the first family .If Eve must be a helper, then she can only help the one (Adam) that needs to be assisted if there is UNITY amongst them .

If they are not united in thoughts, actions and so on, then they will not be able to perform their roles effectively.

Couples must watch this as they raise or parent their children .They must be united in thoughts, speeches and actions for them to be good parents to the children. Children nowadays pay so much attention to very little details. Some of the happenings you think are not significant are the very ones they put their attention at.

They watch closely the relationship between their parents .They can easily notice any inconsistencies in their parents’ actions. A child once told me how his mother asked him to disregard his father’s instructions because she did not believe in the correctness of the instruction.

If you don’t believe in your spouse’s views about any issue, you only need to sort out any differences with your spouse and not with your child, settle the issue with him or her and get back to your child with a “united instruction”. Please never settle such issues in the presence of the kids-you are creating more problems when you do this!

The unity that had existed between Adam and Eve got broken or disappeared when Adam pushed the whole blame on why he took the forbidden fruit on his wife.

“The woman you gave to be with me, she gave me of the tree, and I did eat    “Genesis 3:12 (KJV)

I believe a more united response to God’s question should have been “My wife and myself ate the fruit because we were deceived by the serpent”
No wonder Adam and Eve raised the first ever murderer in Cain!

Remember, unity in thoughts, speeches and actions between couples is necessary to raise great children.
