You are welcome to this post. I promised, by God’ grace to write on the reasons why God created darkness in this post and I hope you will learn a great deal today.

“In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. And the earth was without form, and void and darkness was upon the face of the deep…” Genesis: 1and 2 (KJ2000).

The Bible, from the passage quoted above shows that darkness accompanied the earth God created! Why did God allow this to happen? He is good and should have prevented darkness from coming along with His good intentions of creating the earth that will be inhabited by people He will make later on!

If we are still surprised by this action of God, I want us to look at the concluding part of Genesis1:2; “… and the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters”. The darkness that God allowed to come with the earth made God’s Spirit to move. His Spirit got down to work! With darkness around, His Spirit must work to make things look good.

The Spirit worked and in verse 3 and 4, light was separated from darkness and the Bible says “God saw the light, that it was good”

Now the first lesson to you: You may be wondering why God allows some negative things in your life as a Christian and He is even telling all that care to listen from Isaiah 45:7 that “He creates darkness”. The reason is for you to get down to work as a Christian.

Some Christians are lazy. They want it sweet at all times. They find it difficult praying their way out of problems. They are so lazy to even dig into God’s word in order to apply the necessary faith that will solve their problems!

God allows darkness to accompany the earth during creation because He wanted His Spirit to get down to work. You must also begin to act like God. Get down to work as a Christian if you notice anything in your life contrary to the word of God. You are to pray it off, faith it off and word it off. Most times, God allowed it to watch your reaction to the situation just like the case of Job.
