The power of God is the might of God. God’s power shows His ever dependable resources and might that are available to help you and I on this earth.

Why the power of God sermon illustration?
Why am I giving this post to illustrate the power of God? I have been blessed on many occasions by the story I am sharing in this post. God’s mighty hand of power came strong for His people against the enemies of their progress.
I have decided to share this story and the joy I have derived from it over the years in this power of God sermon illustration posts.
Obstacles can’t stand God and His might
Even if the obstacles appear so great, you should understand that the solution and the power of God is greater. Look at the obstacles presented against the Jews when they tried to rebuild the temple in Jerusalem.
Ezra 4:4-6
[4]Then the people of the land tried to discourage the people of Judah. They troubled them in building,
[5]and hired counselors against them to frustrate their purpose all the days of Cyrus king of Persia, even until the reign of Darius king of Persia.[6]In the reign of Ahasuerus, in the beginning of his reign, they wrote an accusation against the inhabitants of Judah and Jerusalem.
They troubled them. They weakened their hands and they wrote an accusation letter against them. So the work stopped!
Greater is the power of God
But greater is the power of God to stop obstacles. Read it below:
Ezra 5:1-2
[1]Then the prophet Haggai and Zechariah the son of Iddo, prophets, prophesied to the Jews who were in Judah and Jerusalem, in the name of the God of Israel, who was over them.
[2]So Zerubbabel the son of Shealtiel and Jeshua the son of Jozadak rose up and began to build the house of God which is in Jerusalem; and the prophets of God were with them, helping them.
Prophets rose and prophesied and obstacles melted. Look at how Zechariah captured it below:
Zechariah 4:7
[7]‘Who are you, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel you shall become a plain! And he shall bring forth the capstone With shouts of “Grace, grace to it!”
Trust in God and His power
You should lean on and trust in God’s prophetic Word. His power lies in His Word.
Say it and pray for it in your situation. Obstacles can’t stand it.
You should understand that if you are not born again or if you are yet to accept Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, you can’t experience the power of God consistently.
You need to say a simple prayer from your heart asking Jesus Christ to become your Lord and Savior today. Ask God for forgiveness of your sin. Ask Him to use the blood of Jesus Christ to wash you clean from sin.
If you have said that prayers, you have become a child of God. Congratulations.
