How are secular films using Bible contents? I believe that is the question in your heart at the moment. I will be showing some examples below.
The interesting part is that those who have done this, their films have turned out to be best sellers and very popular.
You are surprised? Let us look at examples below.
Examples of secular films that used Bible contents
The following are examples of secular films that used Bible contents for their films. It’s either they use it directly as the title just like:
Breath of Life
A tribe called Judah
Or in their stories just like
Jagun Jagun (This is just the story of David and Goliath expertly dramatized)
7 Doors (latest from Femi Adebayo) (This story talks about Generational blessings and curses).
In Breath of Life, God’s Word was directly quoted.
In a Tribe Called Judah, Funke Akindele started out anointing the pictures of her children. Then, of course, she named the film, A Tribe Called Judah – that is very obvious.
Jagun Jagun by Femi Adebayo, is simply a story of David and Goliath. That is very clear.
Femi Adebayo repeated this trend in his latest blockbuster, 7 Doors.
A look at 7 Doors and it’s Biblical contents
Femi Adebayo clearly told the story of of generational curses from one generation to another generation. He expertly told the Bible revelation that shows the need for generational curses to be dealt with it else it will continue to trouble the children from one generation to another.
Did you see the end period of the film when he went to fight the evil power behind the curse?
He went in to fight and he was being subdued and then he called in a superior power that came around to help him. He won the battle.
It is just a Christian calling on Jesus Christ in their battle against generational curses.
Why are they doing this?
I am not so sure now. But it is very clear they have discovered some thing. As Christians, we know that God’s Word is prophetic. When the prophetic Word of God is put to use, it carries great power.
So, secular film makers are probably using prophetic Word of God as contents to trigger the success of their films.
The draw back here is that these secular films will become popular and they won’t add any thing to God’s kingdom.
Gospel Movie Makers must wake up
This is the reason why we have to wake up and polish our trades as Gospel film makers. This clearly shows that we have the real thing – The revelation from Word of God. It is so powerful that secular films makers are now leveraging it for success and breakthroughs.
Bit what are we doing with it. Do we believe in the revelation from God’s Word more than these people?
That is a question every gospel films maker must answer in a personal level.
Mysterious fact about these secular films
The mysterious fact about these films is that they are all bestsellers.
We (Gospel film makers) have the real thing with us. So we should up our games and be ready to use what we have effectively for the cause of God.
Though we are not competing with them but it is just a strange fact that they are expertly using or leveraging on the contents, revelation in the Bible to make their films.
