The story of Esau shows someone who is strong but weak. What do I mean by that?

I want you to check out how the strength in the popular Bible figure called, Esau was actually weakness. You will also see from this post how Jacob, though appeared weak but was much stronger than his brother, Esau.

Strong but weak: what the story of Esau showed us

Did you read how Esau demonstrated his weakness before Jacob, his brother because of ordinary food?

Outwardly, he had looked like a strong man but he was a weakling on the inside! He had not been taking God and His will seriously.

He was Godless. This made him a weak person on the inside.

Jacob was strong

His brother, Jacob, was a completely different person. He loved and cared about the things of God and that was why he wanted the blessings of the first born more than Esau.

Jacob had understood, probably through conversation with his parents, and had researched into the history of Israel or through inquiries from God. But Esau was lackadaisical.

Strong but weak: Esau was not close to God

Probably, Esau never made inquiries about the inheritance of the first born in Israel from God or asked his parents questions about the blessings of the first born. I am not surprised that he threw it away without any sweat!

Are you a strong man?

So I am asking you again this important question: Are you a strong man or a weak man?

With the new definition I have given to you of weakness and strength, you should be able to give a good answer to that question.
