The Word of God and you will show you the benefits of the Word of God to you. This post will show you very cogent reasons why you should not stop studying the Word of God.
The Word of God and you: Read the story of a boy
There is a story of a boy who was leaving his parents to attend a school in another town.
Before he left home, his father provided everything he would need in the school and gave him some money for his upkeep for a number of weeks.
When the boy was about to leave home his father told him that whenever he needed anything he should read his Bible. He kept some money in a Bible which he had just bought for him.
The boy wondered how he could relate his needs to reading the Bible.
He left home and joined other boys in school. He had no problem in school concerning his needs for some weeks.
About the half of the term, all his provisions were exhausted and he had no money to buy anything.
The Word of God and you: the letter to his father
He then wrote a letter informing his father that all his provisions had been exhausted and there was no money on him to buy anything.
The father replied, “Son, read your Bible.” Again the boy could not understand how his present condition had anything to do with reading the Bible.
He did not open the Bible, not to talk of reading it.
Few days later
A few days later, the boy wrote another letter with terse tone to make his father act immediately. Unfortunately for him, he got the same reply from his father.
He did not receive help from anyone. His mates told him like the five wise virgins told the foolish ones, “lest there be not enough for us and you, go to them that sell and buy for yourself.”
The boy began to suffer and the report soon got to the principal who invited the boy to his office. The Principal asked the boy about his problem. He told him that all his provisions had been exhausted and there was no money on him to buy and replace them and that any time he sent a message to his father about his needs, the reply he always got was, “Son, read your Bible.”
The Principal asked him to go and bring his Bible.
The boy rushed to the hostel and brought his Bible and gave it to the Principal.
As the Principal opened the Bible, some money neatly wrapped inside a piece of paper, dropped on the Principal’s table!
All solutions in the Word of God
This is just exactly how many of us behave as children of God. Everything that we need in life and all solutions to our problems are all in the Word of God but we would not read it.
Many do not open the Bible until Sunday during church service not to talk about reading good Christian books.
Life is a journey of learning
Life is a journey of learning. The more you read, study and meditate on the Word of God the more you learn new things and discover yourself. You cannot grow spiritually without the Word of God.
There is always something new to learn no matter how old you are. Have a great day.
